eToro Expands Nordic Presence with Djurgårdens IF Partnership and Nasdaq Nordic Integration
eToro has signed a new sponsorship agreement with the Swedish football club Djurgårdens IF. The partnership includes LED branding during matches and hospitality services for the firm's premium clients. This move follows a broader expansion of eToro's operations in the Nordic region, including a recent collaboration with Nasdaq to provide real-time trading data for over 210 stocks listed on the Stockholm, Helsinki, and Copenhagen exchanges. This integration makes eToro the first non-Nordic broker to offer such data to its global retail user base.
The expansion comes as retail participation in Nasdaq Nordic markets has grown from 7.7% in 2018 to 10.6% in the first quarter of 2025. eToro has identified Sweden as a significant investment hub and indicated plans to further localize its offerings, including regional payment methods and specific investment products. The firm’s sports sponsorship strategy also continues to grow across Europe, with a multi-year agreement recently signed to become the Official Trading Partner of Nottingham Forest FC for the 2025/26 season, and an extension of its partnership with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar through 2027.
Beyond football, eToro has entered the rugby sector in 2025 through a sponsorship of Premiership Women’s Rugby. The increase in non-betting sports sponsorships, such as those held by eToro, occurs alongside upcoming regulatory changes in the United Kingdom. New Premier League rules will soon prohibit betting firms from displaying logos on the front of match shirts, a shift that is expected to create further opportunities for financial services brands to increase their visibility in professional sports.
