Lendela Announces Leadership Changes Amid Regional Expansion
Singapore-based loan matching platform Lendela has appointed Kent Huang as Chief Financial Officer and Steven Wong as Chief Technology Officer as part of its latest executive reshuffle. The changes come as the company continues to expand its presence across the Asia-Pacific region.
Huang, who will be based in Singapore, has nearly two decades of experience in financial management and has previously held positions at PayPal and Intuit. His responsibilities at Lendela will include financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Wong, based in Kuala Lumpur, has spent over 15 years in leadership roles at various startups, focusing on the development of financial technology platforms. He will oversee Lendela’s technology infrastructure and its adaptation to new markets.
Lendela operates a loan-matching model in which financial institutions submit financing offers to potential borrowers. Since its launch in 2018, the company has facilitated over 400,000 loan applications and has built partnerships with more than 100 lenders, including banks in Singapore and Hong Kong.
The company previously secured $5 million in Series A funding in 2023, with backing from Chocolate Ventures and Cocoon Capital. It currently operates in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia. Recent hiring trends indicate that Lendela has increased its workforce by approximately 30% since the beginning of 2024.
