​Michael Buchbinder Exits Scandinavian Capital Markets to Launch Golf Event Venture

​FX News Group reports that Michael Buchbinder, a longtime Partner at Sweden-based CFDs broker Scandinavian Capital Markets, has left the company. Buchbinder, who is based in Toronto, Canada, appears to be stepping away from the online trading sector to focus on a new business in golf event planning called Fore Giving.

Buchbinder joined Scandinavian Capital Markets in 2015 and played a key role in expanding the firm’s institutional brokerage offerings. The broker, founded in 2011 by Arif Alexander Ahmad, operates as an STP (straight-through-processing) CFDs broker registered with Sweden’s Financial Supervisory Authority and also runs an offshore arm in Mauritius.

In a recent LinkedIn post, Buchbinder shared reflections on his departure:

"It was scary, exciting, bitter sweet. I've been in the world of FX for almost 17 years… The space is getting bigger with a new generation of traders coming of age, but at the same time smaller and more complicated… It is time for me to follow my passion and do what I can to make the world better and leave a legacy."

He added that his new venture will focus on creative golf events and sponsorship opportunities for companies in the financial sector.
