​Mike Whitaker Joins BGC Group as Global Chief Information Officer

​BGC Group, Inc. has appointed Mike Whitaker as its new Global Chief Information Officer and a member of the Executive Committee. In this newly established position, Whitaker will focus on formulating and executing a comprehensive technology strategy aimed at fostering innovation and enhancing operational efficiencies to drive company growth.

With over 40 years of experience in the financial services and technology sectors, Whitaker brings a wealth of knowledge to BGC. He previously served at Citi for 15 years, where he held various senior technology management roles, ultimately becoming the Head of Operations & Technology and part of the Executive Management Team.

Before his tenure at Citi, Whitaker worked at Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital, where he managed critical functions, including CIO for Global Fixed Income, Global Equities & Prime Finance, eCommerce, and Algorithmic trading. He earned a Master of Science degree in financial markets and derivatives from City, University of London.

Whitaker's extensive background in technology and finance positions him well to lead BGC Group's strategic initiatives, as the company seeks to leverage technology for competitive advantage and sustainable growth.
