​State Street Appoints Echizenya as Head of Japan

​State Street Global Advisors has announced the appointment of Dohei Echizenya as its new head in Japan, effective immediately. The decision was communicated in a media release on Monday. Echizenya will report to Kevin Anderson, who leads the Asia Pacific division.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Echizenya brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He previously worked at BlackRock, where he served as the director of the client business division in Japan.

Kevin Anderson highlighted the importance of the Japanese market for State Street, stating, “We see significant opportunities as the government rolls out initiatives to position Japan as a premier asset management center.”

Anderson further noted that Echizenya's deep experience in strategic development and his ability to manage large, complex businesses will be vital in enhancing the firm's services for Japanese investors. The leadership change aligns with State Street's strategy to leverage government measures aimed at boosting the country's asset management industry.
