GMO Financial Holdings Releases Financial Results for Q3 2021

GMO Financial Holdings, Inc. (GMO Financial Holdings), a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the securities and foreign exchange margin trading (FX) and cryptocurrency businesses, today released its preliminary financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021.

The specific financial metrics are as follows:

  • Operating revenue rose by YoY 18.4% to JPY 33 billion

  • Operating income came in at JPY 12.5 billion, increasing by YoY 22%

  • Ordinary income enjoyed a good growth of YoY 27.9% to JPY 12.7 billion

  • ​Profit attributable to owner of parent reached JPY 7.8 billion, up YoY 25.8%

According to the announcement, for the nine months ended September 30, 2021, the firm’s trading volume and revenue of OTC-FX and CFDs decreased compared to the same period last year, which saw a volatile market due to the rapid market fluctuations. However, operating revenue increased by 18.4% YoY mainly because the trading volume of and the revenues related to the transactions of cryptoassets increased significantly amid the volatile cryptoassets market.

In September, Fazzaco reported that GMO Financial Holdings’ subsidiary GMO Click Securities​, a top Japanese retail brokerage, has expanded its offering with seven new CFDs instruments of the company stocks and indices from the United States markets.
