Barclays Promotes Stephen Dainton to Co-Head of Global Markets – Distribution

The British universal bank Barclays Bank PLC (Barclays) has named Stephen Dainton as Co-Head of Global Markets – Distribution, effective immediately.

Prior to the new role, Stephen served as Deputy Head of Markets. He joined the British bank in 2017 from Credit Suisse, where he has been for more than 14 years. Additionally, he held executive positions in several top-rated banks, including in Goldman Sachs for over 2 years, and in CIBC for more than 7 years.

In the meantime, Adeel Khan has been promoted to Co-Head of Global Markets – Trading. Most recently he was Global Head of Credit Products.

Both Stephen and Adeel will report to Paul Compton, the new Global Head of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB), and President of Barclays Bank PLC.

Shortly before, Fazzaco reported that Barclays has announced the changes to Group Executive Committee​, with immediate effect, following its appointment of C.S. Venkatakrishnan (Venkat) as Group Chief Executive on 4 November 2021.
