MOEX Reports 11.7% YoY Increase in Trading Volumes in November 2021

Moscow Exchange (MOEX) has posted its trading volumes for the month of November, showing a jump across most key segments.
According to the press release, the total trading volumes across MOEX's markets grew by 11.7 percent to RUB 91.0 trln in November compared to the same period of 2020. Growth leaders were the Derivatives Market (44.1%), Equity Market (29.1%) and Money Market (19.2%).
Total trading volume on the Equity and Bond Market in November came in at RUB 4,683.2 bln compared to the prior year's RUB 5,289.8 bln. Money Market turnover increased by 19.2 percent to RUB 41.9 trln compared to November 2020's RUB 35.2 trln. Turnover in precious metals (spot and swaps) rose by 2.5 times to reach RUB 15.3 bln, of which RUB 15.1 bln (3.5 t) was gold and RUB 0.2 bln (3.0 t) was silver.
In terms of Derivatives Market, its volumes increased by 44.1 percent to reach a record RUB 17.6 trln compared to the previous year's RUB 12.2 trln. Standardized OTC Derivatives Market volume grew 9.6 times and reached RUB 234.4 bln.
In addition, FX Market trading volume fell to RUB 26.1 trln with spot trades amounting to RUB 9.2 trln and swap trades and forwards totaling RUB 16.9 trln.
As Fazzaco reported earlier, MOEX has added 80 new international stocks including Nasdaq, Airbnb, Domino's Pizza, Gartner, Motorola Solutions and others for trading on 1 December 2021.
