FTX Europe Creates New Website Dedicated for Customer Balance Withdrawal

FTX Europe, the European subsidiary of the bankrupt crypto giant FTX, has created a new website dedicated to customers withdrawing their balances from the platform. The domain name, https://ftxeurope.eu/, has been approved by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySE).
The new website reportedly will not provide any other services other than balance withdrawal.
The European subsidiary said in an email: "Please be informed that our new domain, www.ftxeurope.eu, has been approved by our regulator CySEC as you have well identified. The website will only be used for all FTX EU LTD clients to be able to claim their FIAT balances. There will be no services or products offered via this website."
FTX Europe is headquartered in Switzerland with regional headquarters in Cyprus. The European unit was granted a license to operate its virtual asset exchange by CySEC in March 2022, followed by securing a Cyprus investment firm (CIF) license in September.
Less than two months later, however, FTX declared its bankruptcy and the Cyprus regulator immediately suspended its operation in Europe.
In December, CySEC stated in an announcement that it had extended the suspension of the CIF license of FTX Europe to March 31, 2023, allowing the firm "to proceed with the necessary actions in order to comply with the relevant provisions of the Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law of 2017". Meanwhile, the regulator noted that FTX Europe could complete its own transactions and those of its clients which are before it, in accordance with client instructions, and could return all funds and financial instruments which are attributable to its clients.
