Rakuten Securities Posts 115.5% Yearly Soaring in Net Income for Q1 2023

Rakuten Securities, one of the largest Japanese FX brokers, has announced its consolidated financial reports for the first quarter ended March 31, 2023 (Q1 2023).
The operating revenue for the quarter came in at JPY 24,633 million, 5.7% higher than JPY 23,312 million in the first quarter of 2022. While the net operating revenue was JPY 23,399 million, 5.3% higher than JPY 22,231 million in Q1 2022.
Operating income reached JPY 5,926 million, jumping 58.2% compared to JPY 3,746 million in the first quarter of last year. Net income amounted to JPY 3,849 million, soaring 115.5% compared to 1,786 million on a yearly basis.
Rakuten Securities has been regularly expanding its offering of trading instruments. Last November, the broker added 54 new stocks listed on US, Chinese and ASEAN exchanges. And in February, the company announced its plan of further scaling up its trading lineup by adding stocks cover 74 listed companies from the US and China.
Notably, its HongKong subsidiary recently issued a warning against outlaws that pretend to be Rakuten Securities HK staff and use the name/logo of the company. The company advise investors to be alerted to any financial fraud and conduct financial investment through authorized channels or contact its staff through official channels for verification.
