SIX Group Releases Key Figures of SIX Swiss Exchange and BME Exchange for June 2023

SIX Group, a leading financial firm that operates the infrastructure for the Swiss financial centre, has published the monthly key figures of SIX Swiss Exchange and BME Exchange on trading and listing activities in Switzerland and Spain for June 2023.

The combined turnover of the two exchanges totaled CHF 138.6 billion for the month, an increase of 9.3% on a monthly basis and a decrease of 1.3% on a yearly basis. The number of transactions reached 5,663,697, a decrease of 0.6% on a monthly basis and a decrease of 30.8% on a yearly basis.

Key Figures SIX Swiss Exchange

• Trading turnover of SIX Swiss Exchange for June 2023 was CHF 89.75 billion, 2.5% higher than CHF 87.57 billion in the prior month. The number of transaction dropped by 1.4% from 3,629,560 in May 2023 to 3,578,251.

• Trading turnover of Equities was CHF 68.75 billion (1.9% MoM / -10.2% YoY), while the number of transactions was 3,343,890 (-2.2% MoM / -29.0% YoY).

• Trading turnover of Fixed Income was CHF 14.77 billion (-4.4% MoM / 3.9% YoY), while the number of transactions was 40,308 (7.4% MoM / 42.7% YoY).

• Trading turnover of ETF was CHF 5.65 billion (42.6% MoM / -8.4% YoY), while the number of transactions was 164,010 (14.5% MoM / 17.0% YoY).

• Trading turnover of Securitized Derivatives was CHF 580 million (-18.8% MoM / -33.8% YoY), while the number of transactions was 30,043 (1.8% MoM / -25.2% YoY).

• The SMI® stood at 11,280.3 points at the end of June 2023, 0.6% higher than 11,217.9 points in the prior month.

Key Figures of BME Exchange

• Trading volume of the Spanish exchange for June 2023 amounted to EUR 50.06 billion, 24.0% higher than EUR 40.38 billion in the prior month. The number of transactions totaled 2,085,446, up 0.8% compared to 2,069,437 in May 2023.

• Trading turnover of Equities was EUR 25.30 billion (10.4% MoM / -22.7% YoY), while the number of transactions was 2,070,591 (0.7% MoM / -36.2% YoY).

• Trading turnover of Fixed Income was EUR 24.63 billion (10.4% MoM / 131.1% YoY), while the number of transactions was 3,676 (29.2% MoM / 97.6% YoY).

• Trading turnover of ETF was EUR 94 million (25.6% MoM / -31.3% YoY), while the number of transactions was 6,200 (6.7% MoM / -36.1% YoY).

• Trading turnover of Securitized Derivatives was EUR 30 million (27.5% MoM / -61.1% YoY), while the number of transactions was 4,979 (26.2% MoM / -26.3% YoY).

• The IBEX 35 stood at 9,593.0 points at the end of June, 6.0% less than 9,050.2 points in the prior month.
