Fazzaco Reports: Client Account Profit/Loss Ratio of 31 Brokers in January 2024

Fazzaco collected the data of profit/loss ratio of client accounts from 31 brokers in January 2023. The brokers we have in this month-on-month comparison remained the same as last month. The specific data are shown in the table below:


Among the 31 brokers this month, an average of 27.62% of client accounts achieved profits, while 72.38% of client accounts suffered losses. Compared with the average data in December 2023, the winning rate of client accounts increased by 0.45%.
Among them, ActivTrades ranked first with a 37% profit rate of client accounts. The broker had a m-o-m growth of 4%, and it ranked the fourth in December 2023 with a winning rate of 33%.
Teletrade comes right after with a 36.63% profit rate, which is also consistent with that of last month.
Other brokers that more than 30% of client accounts winning money include Saxo Bank (36%) , JFD Brokers (35.56%) , Markets.com (34.7%) , TeraFX (34.37%) , Hantec Markets and FXCM (34%) , ADS Securities (33%) , ThinkMarkets (32.01%) , Forex.com (32%) , IG Group nad CMC Markets (31%) , and City Index (30%).
The highest loss rate of client accounts went to Capital Index, with 86.11 out of every 100 clients losing money. The data is consistent with that of last month. In addition, Valutrades (84.90%), Capital.com (84.01%), Swissquote (82%), FxPro (81.85%) and Plus500 (81%) all had more than 80% of client accounts losing money.

From the table above, it can be seen that compared with December 2023, among the 31 brokers this month, a total of 11 had a lower month-on-month loss rate (marked green), and 6 brokers had a higher month-on-month loss rate (marked red), and the rest, 14 brokers, remained unchanged (or did not update their data in time).
The broker with the most significant month-on-month improvement was Hantec Markets, of which the loss rate dropped 5.01% month-on-month. Additionally, TeraFX saw a 4.25% drop; 4% drop for ActivTrades; 2.98% drop for Dukascopy; 2.4% drop for Markets.com; 2% drop for eToro; and brokers including FXCM, FXDD, Pepperstone, iFOREX Europe, Capital.com all saw slight improvement too.
Brokers who witnessed loss rate rise include Saxo Bank and Swissquote (up 3%); CMC Markets (up 2%); IG Group and Tickmill (up 1%); and One Financial Markets (up 0.8%).
As the data have shown, the client loss rate of all 31 brokers throughout January 2024 saw changes in more brokers yet the fluctuations seemed to remain mild.
In terms of year-on-year, compared with January 2023, among the 29 brokers (excluding Capital.com and Valutrades), a total of 23 had a lower year-on-year loss rate (marked green), and 6 brokers had a higher year-on-year loss rate (marked red). Among them, the brokers with significant changes include: iFOREX Europe (down 15.48% year-on-year) and Swissquote (up 10% year-on-year).
