Euronext FX Trading Volume Totals $548.5Bn for January 2024, Up 12.0% MoM
Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, announced its monthly trading volume for January 2024, reporting a stable growth in Euronext FX trading volume.

Cash Market
The number of transactions of the total cash market rose by 17% from 43,355,368 contracts in December 2023 to 50,648,766 contract for the month, a decrease of 14% compared to 58,715,576 contracts in January 2023.
Average daily trading volume of cash markets came in at 2,302,217 contracts, up 1% on a month-on-month basis (MoM) (December 2023: 2,281,861 contracts) and down 14% on a year-on-year basis (YoY) (January 2023: 2,668,890 contracts).
Transaction value of cash market for the month was €206,217 millioin, up 9% MoM (December 2023: €188,581 million) and down 4% YoY (January 2023: €215,465 million).
Average daily value for the month amounted to €9,373 million, down 6% MoM (December 2023: €9,925 million) and down 4% YoY (January 2023: €9,794 million).
Derivatives Market
Total trading volume of futures reached 4,561,724 lots, up 18.8% MoM (December 2023: 3,840,432 lots) and up 0.8% YoY (January 2023: 4,525,694 lots).
Total trading volume of options reached 8,129,516 lots, up 21.3% MoM (December 2023: 6,702,888 lots) and down 12.0% YoY (January 2023: 9,233,065 lots).
Average daily trading volume of futures for the month was 207,351 lots, up 2.6% MoM (December 2023: 202,128 lots) and up 0.8% YoY (January 2023: 205,713 lots).
Average daily trading volume of options for the month was 369,523 lots, up 4.7% MoM (December 2023: 352,784 lots) and down 12.0% YoY (January 2023: 419,685 lots).
Euronext FX
Trading volume of Euronext FX totaled $548,523 million for the month, up 12.0% MoM (December 2023: $489,610 million) and up 26.9% YoY (January 2023: $432,221 million).
Average daily trading volume of Euronext FX was $24,933 million, up 1.8% MoM (December 2023: $24,481 million) and up 26.9% YoY (January 2023: $19,646 million).
