Exclusive: Vasilis Sotiriou Promoted to Chief Risk Officer, EMEA at 26 Degrees

Fazacco has learned that Vasilis Sotiriou has been promoted to the position of Chief Risk Officer - EMEA at the Sydney-based multi-asset broker, 26 Degrees Global Markets (26 Degrees), further boosting the firm's European leadership team.

According to Sotiriou's LinkedIn profile, he joined as Head Of Risk Management at 26 Degrees in May 2021. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Risk Officer at a Cyprus-based investment firm for almost a year. Starting his career at IC Markets, a leading online retail FX and CFD broker, Sotiriou held the position of Senior Dealer from August 2017, and then assumed the role of Risk Manager from July 2019 until his resignation in October 2020.

Sotiriou holds a Bachelor's Degree in Investment and Risk Finance from the University of Westminster.

In September of last year, Fazzaco reported that 26 Degrees obtained a broker license​ from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), allowing it to operate across the European Economic Area (EEA) .
