MetaTrader Users Urged to Upgrade as Support for Older Versions Ends
MetaQuotes has announced that it will cease support for older builds of its widely-used trading platforms, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, effective December 1. This decision means that only select versions will remain operational beyond this date, prompting users to upgrade to avoid service interruptions.
For MetaTrader 4, the minimum version that will be supported is build 1420, which was launched on May 24, 2024. In contrast, MetaTrader 5 users must upgrade to at least build 4410, released on June 21, 2024, to maintain connectivity with broker servers. Users failing to upgrade to these versions will encounter disconnections, as outlined in the official announcement from MetaQuotes.
The firm emphasized that the latest updates not only enhance platform performance but also bolster security measures and introduce a variety of new tools. Over the last six months, MetaTrader 5 users have seen substantial updates, particularly aimed at enhancing both the desktop and web versions of the platform.
MetaQuotes highlighted several enhancements, including new visual features like crosshair mode and a customizable Market Watch in the web version. Additionally, the incorporation of the OpenBLAS library has improved computational efficiency, facilitating better matrix calculations.
The company strongly advises users to upgrade promptly, noting that newer versions come packed with features that significantly improve user experience and performance. MetaTrader 5's recent beta version 4330, launched in May, offers advanced analytical tools for traders and provides developers with access to the latest ChatGPT model, GPT-4o.
Moreover, the platform has expanded its analytical tools, allowing traders to measure time and prices accurately and utilize various graphical shapes for analysis. Notably, the MetaTrader 5 Client Terminal has seen optimizations and bug fixes that enhance the precision of price calculations and improve the functionality of the economic calendar settings.
