OKX Expands European Reach and Gains UAE Approval

Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has introduced its trading platform and self-custodial wallet to Belgium, offering access to over 200 cryptocurrencies and euro-integrated trading pairs. Services are provided via Okcoin Europe, a Malta-based entity licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority.
However, OKX clarified that its operations in Belgium are under a "non-rejection" status rather than formal regulatory approval. Erald Ghoos, OKX's General Manager for Europe, explained that the company operates through a regulated EU entity without a permanent Belgian presence.
Meanwhile, OKX launched its platform in the UAE after securing a full operating license from the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority. UAE users, both retail and institutional, can access spot trading and derivatives after meeting specific requirements, including a suitability assessment and proof of liquid assets.
