PrimeXM Monthly Trading Volume Slips 5.71% in December 2020

Swiss-founded FX technology firm PrimeXM has released the monthly trading volumes across 3 major data center locations for December 2020, revealing a 5.71% month-on-month decline.
In particular, the company registered a total trading volume of $866.46 billion in December as compared to $918.90 billion in November. The Average Daily Volume (ADV) in December was $39.38 billion. This represented a decrease of 9.99 percent on month-on-month basis when compared to $43.76 billion back in November. In terms of the highest daily trading volume of the month, PrimeXM registered a $56.26 billion turnovers on 21st December.
The total number of trades reported in December was 25.17 million, which was 1.83 percent lower from 25.64 million that was reported in November. The technology firm’s data center in London (LD4) accounted for 74% of the total monthly traded volume and saw $645.38 billion in notional value.
XAUUSD has remained PrimeXM's most popular instrument of traders in December with a total trading volume of $226.7 billion, which accounted for over 26% of the overall monthly trading volume. Furthermore, EURUSD still stood at the first spot in FX pair with $150.6 billion in monthly trading volume.
