SEC names Melissa Hodgman Acting Director of Division of Enforcement
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced it has appointed Melissa R. Hodgman as Acting Director of the Division of Enforcement.
According to SEC, prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Hodgman worked as an associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in Washington, D.C. She began working in the Commission's Enforcement Division in 2008 as a staff attorney. In 2010, she joined the Market Abuse Unit and was promoted to Assistant Director in 2012.
Ms. Hodgman is a graduate of Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree and holds a Master of Laws from the same university.
Commenting on her appointment, SEC Acting Chair Allison Herren Lee. said: "Melissa is suited to this role for her dedication to investor protection, broad experience in the Division, and proven track record of collaboration and creative problem solving. In her role as Associate Director, Melissa has been a good leader in a wide range of complex and important matters. Colleagues in the Division and across the agency respect Melissa for her intellect and dedication."
