Japan's FSA Grants Coinbase Permit to Offer Crypto Services

Fazzaco learned that Coinbase, the US-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has been granted a permit by the Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan to offer trading services on Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Stellar Lumen (XLM), and Litecoin (LTC).
Coinbase opened its first office in Japan in 2018. Its Japanese subsidiary is registered in Japan as a crypto exchange service provider based on the revised Fund Settlement Act.
Additionally, the FSA also approved a permit to Tokyo Hash, a Japanese firm.
Last month, Fazzaco reported that Coinbase announced the appointment of Faryar Shirzad as its Chief Policy Officer. Additionally, the company announced that it will allow its customers in the US to buy crypto on its platform using their debit cards and bank accounts linked to PayPal.
