This year, we will continuously follow the executive moves of various brokers and fintech companies in the financial sector, as well as crypto firms. In the following article, we present a statistical analysis of the executive movements in the forex / crypto market from August 20 2024 to October 24 2024. Among them, both crypto and prop firms are put under the "Brokers".

Hiring vs. Leaving vs. Promotion

By filtering the Fazzaco News database, the data in this article uses a total of 27 news under the Executive Moves tag reported by Fazzaco since August 2024, involving 34 job changes across 26 companies.

From the perspective of company type, it is narrowed down to two categories for statistics since the executive moves over the last two months have dwindled visibly: namely, brokers (20) and fintechs (6). Such classification is far from accurate for certain firms operate astride more fields, providing both trading as well as B2B tech solutions. Moreover, we did not include executive changes in large financial institutions that provide pan-financial services.

We categorized the personnel movements as follows:

Hiring: 25 hires, 16 from 15 brokers, and 7 from 5 fintechs;

Leaving: 3 leavings, all from 3 different brokers;

Promotion: 6 promotions, 5 from 4 brokers, and 1 from 1 fintech.

Therefore, from the above we can roughly infer the following data distribution (as shown below): In the industry executive movements from August 20 2024 to October 24 2024, 73.53% are hires, 8.82% are leavings and 17.65% are promotions.

Executive Moves Worth Noting

As mentioned above, the number of executives changing jobs is visibly less than before. The below is the noteworthy news: In early September, retail FX and CFDs broker, made notable management changes at its Dubai office, which operates under DFSA Regulation. Joseph Dahrieh has been promoted to Managing Director - MENA. Dahrieh, who was previously titled Managing Principal, played a pivotal role in establishing Tickmill's Dubai office in mid-2023. In addition to Dahrieh's promotion, Elie Tarabay has been named Head of Partnerships MENA. Tarabay, who joined Tickmill in 2020 as an Account Manager, will now lead the company's partnership efforts in the MENA region.

Meanwhile, Goldstone Securities announced the appointment of David Freeman as the new Sales Director. David brings a wealth of experience in sales leadership within the financial services industry, having successfully driven growth and built strong client relationships in his previous roles.

Lastly, HSBC has just announced a significant restructuring of its operations, aiming to simplify its business and cut costs under the leadership of new CEO Georges Elhedery. As part of the restructuring, Pam Kaur has been named HSBC's first female chief financial officer, while interim CFO Jon Bingham will return to his position as Global Financial Controller.
