A Dynamic Report of 81 Executive Moves of 61 Brokers, Fintechs & Crypto Firms Since Apr 2024

This year, we will continuously follow the executive moves of various brokers and fintech companies in the financial sector, as well as crypto firms. In the following article, we present a statistical analysis of the executive movements in the forex / crypto market from April 12 2024 to June 12 2024. This time, we have also included prop firms and put them under the "Brokers".

Hiring vs. Leaving vs. Promotion

By filtering the Fazzaco News database, the data in this article uses a total of 66 news under the Executive Moves​ tag reported by Fazzaco since April 2024, involving 81 job changes across 61 companies.

From the perspective of company type, it is divided into three categories for statistics: namely, brokers (31, including 4 props); fintechs (23); and crypto firms (7). Such classification is far from accurate for certain firms operate astride more fields, providing both trading as well as B2B tech solutions. Moreover, we did not include executive changes in large financial institutions that provide pan-financial services.

We categorized the personnel movements as follows:

Hiring: 48 hires, 18 from 17 brokers, 24 from 20 fintechs, and 6 from 5 crypto firms;

Leaving: 20 leavings, 12 from 10 brokers, 5 from 4 fintechs and 3 from 2 crypto firms;

Promotion: 13 promotions, 9 from 9 brokers, 3 from 2 fintechs and 1 from 1 crypto firm.

Therefore, from the above chart, we can roughly infer the following data distribution (as shown below): In the industry executive movements from April 12 2024 to June 12 2024, 59.26% are hires, 24.60% are leavings, and the remaining 16.05% are promotions.

By company type, brokers have seen 18 hires, 12 leavings, and 9 promotions; for fintechs, 24 hired, 5 left and 3 promoted. Crypto firms saw 6 hires, 3 leavings and 1 promotion.

Executive Moves Worth Noting

Fazzaco reported at the end of May that the next significant milestones in UBS's integration of Credit Suisse are the merger of UBS AG and Credit Suisse AG, which would take place on 31 May 2024, and the move to a single Intermediate Holding Company in the United States in June. For that, UBS announced nine executive moves​.

It is also worth noting that Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO at Binance and founder, reported to a California prison in the beginning of June. He is expected to be released in this October​.
