Abu Dhabi Establishes New Authority to Streamline Business Licensing

​The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has launched the Abu Dhabi Registration and Licensing Authority (ADRA) to enhance business operations within the emirate.

ADRA will oversee the registration of businesses across Abu Dhabi, including its non-financial free zones. The new authority will work to simplify licensing procedures and ensure compliance with regulations, particularly those related to anti-money laundering and the prevention of financing for suspicious activities.

"The establishment of ADRA marks a new milestone in Abu Dhabi's remarkable economic journey," said His Excellency Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, chairman of ADDED. "By offering streamlined procedures and expert guidance, ADRA will support our initiatives to accelerate the emirate's economic growth and diversification."

ADRA will leverage digital solutions to facilitate business growth and attract investment. The authority will also establish a comprehensive database to improve the management of the commercial registry and support data-driven decision-making.
