Accenture Nominates Uotani and Nason for Board Positions
Accenture has put forward the nominations of Masahiko Uotani and Jennifer Nason for election to its Board of Directors, with the decision to be made at the annual general meeting on February 6, 2025. If approved, this will expand the board to 11 members.
Masahiko Uotani, currently the chairman and CEO of Shiseido, has extensive experience in the consumer goods sector. He has been instrumental in guiding Shiseido, a company with a long history in cosmetics and skincare, which operates in over 120 countries. Prior to his role at Shiseido, Uotani worked for more than 17 years at Coca-Cola Japan, serving in key positions including chairman and president. His career also includes roles at Kraft Foods and Lion Dentifrice, which have contributed to his knowledge of marketing and management.
Jennifer Nason, who serves as the Global Chair of Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan, has nearly 40 years of experience in banking and capital markets. Her expertise extends to technology and telecommunications, and she has provided strategic advice to various businesses on enhancing shareholder value.
Julie Sweet, Accenture's chair and CEO, welcomed the nominations, noting that Uotani and Nason's backgrounds will support Accenture's strategy to enhance client partnerships and create value for stakeholders.
If elected, Uotani will join the Finance Committee, while Nason will participate in both the Finance and Compensation, and Culture & People Committees. Their contributions are expected to help the board address current business challenges effectively.
The nominations signal Accenture's intent to fortify its governance framework and respond to the changing dynamics of the business environment. By considering these candidates, the company aims to bolster its leadership capabilities and enhance strategic direction in a competitive market.
