AccessFintech Names New CEO as Part of Leadership Transition and Strategic Realignment
AccessFintech has appointed Sarah Shenton as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, following a decision by the board of directors. Shenton, a long-serving board member and former executive at Goldman Sachs, assumes the role from John Shay, who has been serving as interim CEO. Shay will remain with the firm as a special advisor.
Shenton’s appointment follows several years of involvement with the company, including Goldman Sachs’ early investment in AccessFintech’s Series A round in 2018, which she helped lead. Her background includes leadership in strategic operations and investment initiatives within Goldman Sachs’ alternative assets group.
AccessFintech is known for its Synergy Network, which aggregates and distributes post-trade data across financial institutions. The platform currently integrates over 75 data sets and serves more than 250 market participants, aiming to address inefficiencies in financial operations through data synchronization and workflow management.
The leadership change comes as AccessFintech seeks to expand its presence across global markets and further develop its data infrastructure. The company processes over a billion transactions monthly and has built collaborative infrastructure that links a wide spectrum of financial counterparties.
The firm has indicated that its current growth strategy focuses on reinforcing data standardization, post-trade automation, and shared infrastructure solutions within capital markets. Shenton’s appointment is expected to guide this transition, given her involvement in both the company’s strategic planning and her prior experience working with high-growth firms in capital markets infrastructure.
The company has not disclosed any immediate organizational or product changes but has confirmed that it will continue building its Synergy Network and focus on post-trade process optimization.
