ActivTrades Names Martin Bleisteiner Chief Compliance Officer

ActivTrades has appointed Martin Bleisteiner as its new Group Chief Compliance Officer, marking a return for him to the London-based broker after more than a decade.

Bleisteiner, who is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal, joins from Britannia Global Markets, where he spent the past three years as Senior Compliance Officer. Before that, he worked for eight years at the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the Markets Division, focused on supervision, policy, and competition.

His career also includes experience on the brokerage side, with roles at Market Securities LLP and Cantor Fitzgerald Europe, where he led German FX Sales. Notably, this is not his first time at ActivTrades; he previously worked at the firm in 2010 - 2011 as an FX Sales Associate on its German desk.

The hire follows a period of change in ActivTrades' compliance leadership. Earlier this year, longtime Global Head of Risk & Compliance Jonathan Silvester departed, and the firm brought in Hassan Abbas Datoo, a former eToro executive, to help oversee the function.

ActivTrades maintains a global footprint with subsidiaries licensed by regulators including the UK's FCA, the Securities Commission of the Bahamas (SCB), and regulators in Italy, Portugal, Brazil, and Mauritius. The company continues to be led from London by founder and CEO Alex Pusco.
