Admiral Markets UK Swings to £2 Million Loss as Administrative Costs Jump 34%
Admiral Markets UK Limited reported a sharp deterioration in its financial performance for 2025, posting a pre-tax loss exceeding £2 million. This downturn was driven by a significant 34% jump in administrative expenses during the year, following earlier reports citing pressure from client migration and weaker trading volumes.
According to its financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025, turnover saw only marginal growth to £6.39 million from £6.37 million. This modest revenue increase was insufficient to offset a substantial rise in operating costs. Administrative expenses climbed to £8.45 million, up from £6.30 million in 2024. Consequently, the firm swung from an operating profit of £66,050 to an operating loss of £2.06 million.
Interest receivable rose to £307,135 from £193,335, while interest payable also increased slightly to £262,655. Despite the higher interest income, the company reported a pre-tax loss of £2.02 million, a stark contrast to the £1,408 loss recorded in 2024. After a tax charge of £7,820, Admiral Markets UK ended the year with a net loss of £2.03 million, significantly wider than the £45,372 loss in the previous financial year.
Separately, the Admirals Group has restructured its European operations. Admiral Markets AS in Estonia relinquished its investment firm license following a voluntary request to the regulator, with revocation effective 28 April 2026. The group is consolidating EU investment services under its Cyprus-based entity, Admirals Europe Ltd., as part of an effort to simplify its EU regulatory structure while maintaining services for Estonian clients.
