Adyen Opens New Office in Toronto, Names New Canada Head of Sales

​Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading enterprise businesses, has announced the opening of its Toronto office as its Canadian headquarters and the appointment of Ilona Fagyas, PayPal's sales leader, as the new Head of Sales for the region.

Having operated in Canada since early 2020, Adyen has quickly established a strong presence in the country. "The opening of Adyen's Toronto office represents a significant milestone for Adyen Canada as we continue to expand. Our growth is driven by our dedicated team, who consistently assists our growing customer base with innovative payment technology. The progress in payment technology has prompted many organizations and businesses to remodel their technology stack and operations for greater flexibility and convenience in payments. With over two decades of sales experience, Fagyas will transition from PayPal to Adyen later this month, focusing on expanding Adyen's presence in Canada and optimizing its expanding commerce operations for sustained growth. Since November 2019, Fagyas served as Head of Enterprise Sales, Canada at PayPal, leading initiatives to acquire new merchant customers, foster strong client relationships, and develop growth strategies for new and existing merchants.

Fagyas' professional background includes nearly ten-year tenures at Chase Bank, where she held various sales leadership roles, including Director of Sales for Small Business, Vice President Sales for Small Business, Vice President Sales for Mid-Market, and Executive Director, Canada Head of Field & Inside Sales. Prior to joining PayPal, Fagyas also held customer service and sales positions at TD Bank and Scotiabank.
