AEGIS Hedging Solutions Appoints Jay Graham to Board of Directors

AEGIS Hedging Solutions, a provider of commodity market intelligence, technology and market infrastructure, has appointed Jay Graham to its Board of Directors, the company announced.
Graham is Co-Chief Executive Officer of Spur Energy Partners LLC, a Houston-based oil and gas producer formed in 2019 with backing from KKR and The Energy & Minerals Group. He has spent more than three decades in North American oil and gas and has built, taken public and sold two exploration and production companies.
He previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of WildHorse Resource Development Corp. (NYSE:WRD), leading the company through its December 2016 initial public offering and its sale to Chesapeake Energy Corporation in a transaction valued at approximately $3.977 billion at announcement, completed in February 2019. Before that, he was Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Resource Development Corp. (Nasdaq: MRD) through its merger with Range Resources Corporation, completed in September 2016. He also co-founded and served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of WildHorse Resources I & II, LLC.
Graham began his career in 1993 and held positions of increasing responsibility with Halliburton, Devon Energy and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Throughout his career, he has built and led businesses backed by institutional investors including NGP, The Carlyle Group, KKR and EMG, taking companies from formation to public listing to sale.
Bryan Sansbury, CEO of AEGIS, said that Graham has experience on the customer side of the table at a high level, having run producers, raised institutional capital, taken companies public and sold them. Sansbury added that Graham understands how commodity price risk affects capital programs, credit facilities and board discussions, and that his judgment is what the company wants as it builds its next phase.
Graham said that AEGIS operates where producers make their most consequential commercial decisions and has earned trust doing so. He noted that the combination of advice, data and market infrastructure the company has assembled is difficult to replicate, and that the opportunity ahead is larger than what has been built so far.
