Alexander Geralis, Head of Business Development at Spotware, who had an interview with us back in this May​, sat down with Fazzaco again, and had a discussion with us on the upcoming expos, industry challenges & cTrader's super-release.

Fazzaco: Good day, Alexander, glad to have you here again! How is the market treating you, do you have any news to share?

Alexander: My pleasure. Always good to sit down and speak with Fazzaco about what is going on in the market.

Things have been immensely busy for us in the best way possible. We are seeing a big uptick in interest and brokers are coming online from the SEA-focused region. This is an area where we have been underrepresented for a while, and trader demand has finally caught up with brokers, who find themselves in need of cTrader Copy, cTrader Automate or even just the high-quality manual trading experience cTrader offers.

Fazzaco: Very good to hear! What would you say is the one cTrader feature that sets it apart from its competitors, creating all this demand?

Alexander: I believe there are a few key points, but as I can only name one, let us do one for brokers and one for traders. 

On the trader side, Copy is really the biggest growth mover, so making it more readily available on mobile and for brokers focused on specific geos, is really responding to trader interest and creating an avalanche of attention.

On the broker side, we get amazing feedback from brokers using both cTrader and older platforms. One example that comes up often is the transparency of the Slippage Report in cBroker. Dealers absolutely love how intuitive the admin interface is, and how responsive and helpful the round-the-clock support team is. It sounds like something that should be standard , but you would be surprised to know how rare this actually is by most platform providers.

Fazzaco: I see. Now, we hear Spotware is attending the iFX Expo in Cyprus this October. What does the expo schedule currently look like, and where should brokers go to catch up with you?

Alexander: Yes, you are right, but we will not only be attending the iFX Expo in Limassol but also the upcoming Forex Expo Dubai. Please come see me at our booths if you have any questions or are just interested to hear about the latest and greatest cTrader updates.

Fazzaco: Cool, we will make sure to stop by! Let’s speak a little more about the cTrader product. How often do you release an updated version of cTrader? What do you usually factor in before each upgrade?

Alexander: We have minor releases every two weeks, but these are mostly bug fixes and small performance improvements. Often it is only in the backend that we make our changes, and users don't even notice them. As for major releases, these happen every few months and have truly a lot to them. A good example of such is the super release that's coming up now, which will be focused on charting.

Fazzaco: History tells us that competition in the Fintech arena can get quite cruel. Do you believe that it is possible for Spotware to work with its competitors in some way in the future?

Alexander: We don't see competition as a negative factor, but rather a positive one. In fact, I would say we are the biggest competitor in the market. If you think about it, we entered the market trying to excel and improve upon what was already available, as well as to provide something new where we saw a gap and hence a necessity. As you may remember, we were the pioneer in true ECN/STP retail forex platforms. We stick to our guns and continue down our own path, which is one where we keep offering and progressing on what I truly believe to be the absolute best retail FX/CFD platform on the market. I am aware that this sounds biased coming from the Head of Business Development at Spotware, but even if I were working somewhere else, this would remain my view of it.

Fazzaco: So what is the upcoming step for cTrader? We are excited to hear more about the new grand release.

Alexander: The new super-release is guaranteed to blow traders away. We are talking about more interactive immersion for the cTrader community. While I can't reveal too much right now, I promise to be back for a talk with you closer to release time!
