Alpaca, a self-clearing broker-dealer offering trading in stocks, ETFs, options, and fixed income products, has been accepted as a Nasdaq Exchange Member - a move that enhances its market connectivity and reinforces its position as a growing infrastructure provider in the U.S. financial ecosystem.

The new membership allows Alpaca to connect directly to Nasdaq's order book, giving it access to the exchange's full liquidity depth and a broad array of order types. The integration, the company said, represents an important milestone in its effort to build a complete in-house brokerage stack capable of handling multiple asset classes.

"Our Nasdaq membership demonstrates Alpaca's maturity and advancement in the financial markets, highlighting the expanding range of trading products we can deliver," said Tony Lee, Global Head of Brokerage at Alpaca.

The firm has been expanding its market reach through a series of memberships with key clearing and settlement bodies. It already holds membership with the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (FICC) and the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), as well as clearing status through the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). Together, these relationships strengthen Alpaca's infrastructure and operational independence.

Yoshi Yokokawa, CEO and co-founder of Alpaca, said the company's mission is to empower partners through technology and infrastructure that prioritize speed, flexibility, and reliability. "For infrastructure to truly serve its purpose, it must stay flexible - with more choices so partners can deliver better experiences," he said. "Becoming a Nasdaq member further strengthens the full-stack foundation we're building with our in-house technology and brokerage."

Founded with a focus on API-driven trading solutions, Alpaca has positioned itself as a key player in providing brokerage services for fintech companies and trading platforms that seek to build customized products on top of its infrastructure. The Nasdaq membership marks another step in its evolution from a platform provider to a fully integrated market participant.
