Amazon Japan Taps Adyen to Process Payments

Amazon Japan has inked a partnership with Adyen, the global financial platform of choice for leading companies, to leverage the latter's platform to process payments. The cooperation enables Amazon Japan to further optimize the payment data and checkout experience for its Japanese customers.
According to the official press release, Adyen's direct acquiring and data-rich insights will allow Amazon Japan to deliver its customers a more seamless flow, whether they're shopping from Japan or overseas.
"Japan's digital sector has seen accelerated growth in the past two years. Tapping into Adyen's platform allows Amazon Japan to offer richer customer experiences with our payment optimization tools and data insights," said Jonathan Epstein, Country Manager Japan, Adyen.
"We strive to provide our customers with the best shopping experience, and Adyen's global payments expertise is a great match for Amazon's customer-centric philosophy," said Henri Tsuruta, Head of Finance, Amazon Japan Consumer Payments.
Earlier this month, Fazzaco reported that Adyen was set to launch Tap to Pay on iPhone for its U.S. customers in partnership with Apple later this year. The new offering allows its U.S. customers to use their iPhones to accept contactless payments, without the need to purchase or manage additional hardware or payment terminals.
