AMINA Bank Names Michael Benz to Lead Asia-Pacific Operations

Swiss crypto-focused AMINA Bank AG has appointed Michael Benz as head of its Hong Kong office and its Asia-Pacific operations, as the institution looks to strengthen its presence in the region.

Benz, who has more than three decades of senior management experience, previously served as Global Head of Private Banking at Standard Chartered, CEO of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Asia, and Head of Product & Services at UBS Wealth Management APAC. He will report directly to AMINA CEO Franz Bergmueller.

The bank said the appointment comes as it prepares to expand digital asset services across Asia. New technology platforms are expected to launch in the second half of 2025, alongside partnerships in Hong Kong that aim to drive institutional adoption of crypto banking solutions.
