Amsterdam-based Paytech Mollie Promotes CTO Koen Köppen to CEO

Amsterdam-based payments service provider Mollie announces to appoint its current chief technology officer (CTO) Koen Köppen as new CEO to replace current CEO Shane Happach, who is leaving the firm for a new job in Asia after around two years at Mollie.
The appointment is conditional to approval from the Dutch Central Bank.
In his new role, Mollie says Köppen will be tasked with leading its "mission to simplify complex financial services and level the playing field for small- and medium-sized e-commerce companies taking on larger competitors". The company adds an "important" part of his role will also be to increase the pace of product development and delivery "having previously turned Klarna into a product delivery machine".
Köppen joined the Dutch paytech last June after spending over a decade at Klarna, holding several leadership positions and becoming its CTO almost five years ago.
Founded in 2004, Mollie provides payments solutions to 130,000+ businesses in Europe.
