Ant International Develops AI Automation Tools Targeting Merchant Dispute and Integration Workflows
Ant International has introduced new AI-driven features to its merchant services division, Antom, with the rollout of Antom Copilot 2.0. The upgrade focuses on automation in dispute handling, payment integration, onboarding processes, and risk management, aimed at streamlining operational workflows for merchants.
The upgraded Copilot tool includes a Chargeback AI Assistant, designed to automate responses to payment disputes. Based on case-specific analysis, the system offers documentation support, success rate estimation, and post-case diagnostics. In early testing, the tool reduced the time spent on disputes by 46% and contributed to a modest improvement in case resolution success. Although full automation is planned, current deployment includes manual review and merchant confirmation stages.
Antom Copilot 2.0 also introduces an AI-based onboarding process that extracts merchant documentation using multimodal language models. Additionally, it allows for risk control configuration via natural language input, aiming to make anti-fraud settings more accessible without requiring technical intervention.
Other functional expansions include personalized recommendations for payment methods and acquiring services based on sector trends and geographic needs. These tools are positioned to reduce integration timelines by over 90%, using techniques such as chain-of-thought reasoning, standardized workflows, and automated code generation.
Antom reported that more than half of the merchants using its dashboard engaged with Copilot in the first half of 2025. The majority of queries were related to payment method compatibility, currency support, and implementation options.
Antom, a subsidiary of Ant International, currently supports integration with over 300 payment methods across 200+ markets. While the company continues to position itself as a digitisation partner for global merchants, the Copilot 2.0 upgrade signals a focus on process automation and dispute resolution efficiency over purely payment processing.
