Ant International has introduced the Agentic Mobile Protocol (AMP), an open-source framework designed for the agentic commerce sector. The protocol enables secure, AIOps-native payment connections for AI agents to mobile services, spanning digital wallets, banking apps, super apps, and portals across phones and wearable devices.

"We are deeply grateful for partners, acquirers and developers who contributed to this project. An agentic protocol for mobile commerce that ensures superior efficiency and security results will be key for businesses large and small expanding into the world's fastest growing markets," said Jiang-Ming Yang, Chief Innovation Officer at Ant International.

The protocol allows merchants, including LLMs, AI platforms, and agent builders, along with digital wallets, to integrate agentic payment functions directly into existing workflows without system overhauls. By open-sourcing AMP, Ant International aims to establish a universal, auditable standard for secure and seamless AI agent transactions globally.

Key features of the AMP framework include a streamlined agentic checkout experience, reducing integration steps by 50% compared to traditional card-binding, a money-back guarantee for transactions, and cross-device compatibility. It also provides a secure trust architecture for delegating payment authority to AI agents, a high-frequency agent-to-agent settlement mechanism capable of handling nano-transactions as small as $0.000001, and a comprehensive Know Your Agent framework with a proprietary Agent Trust Rating system.

Ant International is implementing AMP with wallet partners of Alipay+, its global wallet gateway. Alipay+ currently connects over 40 digital wallets, covering 1.8 billion user accounts and 150 million merchants worldwide. The company is also among the first partners of Mastercard and Visa piloting card-based transaction capabilities for AI agents and is collaborating with Google on agentic commerce protocols.
