Apple and Affirm Partner to Launch BNPL Services for Canadian Clients
Fazzaco learned that Apple Inc. (Apple) has built a partnership with Affirm Holdings Inc.’s affiliate -- PayBright, a Canada-based buy now, pay later (BNPL) service provider, to launch BNPL programme for Canadian customers this month, as part of Apple’s expansion strategy.
Reportedly, the programme is planned to to roll out at Apple’s online and physical retail stores in Canada, and it will enable iPhone, Mac, and iPad buyers in Canada to pay for purchases over 12 or 24 months instead of in-full at the time of the transaction. Furthermore, interest-free for a limited time after the launch will be provided.
Besides, the installment service for Canada will support down payments via trade-ins of existing devices.
In the US, Apple has teamed up with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. last year to offer BNPL system for Apple purchases via its Apple Card credit card.
At the beginning of this month, Coinbase, a California based digital asset exchange operator, has enabled customers to buy crypto with linked debit cards to Apple Pay and Google Pay, and instant cashouts up to $100,000 per transaction available 24/7, as Fazzaco reported.
