APRA grants foreign ADI licence to Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank
The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has granted Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank Co., Ltd a licence to operate as a foreign authorised deposit-taking institution (Foreign-ADI) under the Banking Act 1959.
The bank's history traces back to 1992 with the establishment of Fubon Commercial Bank by Fubon Group. In 2005, Taipei Bank and Fubon Bank merged to form Taipei Fubon Bank, a landmark consolidation in Taiwan's financial sector. The institution further expanded through a merger with JihSun Bank in 2023.
