Aquis CEO Alasdair Haynes Steps Down for Health Reasons

Aquis Exchange, the company behind next-generation financial markets, has announced a significant leadership transition. Chief Executive Officer Alasdair Haynes has informed the Board of his decision to step back from the day-to-day management of the business due to health considerations. Effective immediately, Haynes will assume the role of President of the Group. This move marks a new chapter for Aquis, while ensuring continuity and leveraging Haynes' extensive experience.
Haynes' tenure as CEO has been marked by significant growth and development for Aquis. Under his leadership, the company evolved from a startup subscription-based exchange to a leading multi-product European exchange group. He expressed pride in the achievements of the company, stating, "It has been a privilege and joy to have founded and led Aquis over the past 12 years, and I could not be more proud of the business that we have built. We have come an incredibly long way since launching as a start-up subscription-based exchange, and today consider ourselves a leading multi-product European exchange group."
In his new capacity as President, Haynes will remain a Director of the Company and act as a senior advisor to the management team. He will also play a key role in supporting the strategic evolution of Aquis and continue to serve as an ambassador for the Group. Furthermore, he will retain his responsibilities as Head of the Aquis Stock Exchange division, ensuring his continued involvement in this crucial area of the business.
Haynes emphasized his commitment to the future of Aquis, saying, "I am delighted to remain actively involved in steering the Group and its strategy in my new role as President."
The Board of Aquis expressed their gratitude for Haynes' contributions. Deirdre Somers, Chair of the Board, acknowledged his instrumental role in the company's success, stating, "Alasdair has been truly instrumental in Aquis' success over the past 12 years. The Group has benefited immensely from his guidance, as well as his unending enthusiasm and creativity."
The Board also expressed confidence in the future of Aquis under the new leadership structure.
