Aquis Exchange Hires Industry Veteran as Independent Non-executive Director

​Technology-driven exchange services group Aquis Exchange yesterday announced the appointment of former chief executive of Euronext Dublin, Deirdre Somers, as an independent non-executive director to its board.

Somers brings 23 years of experience in both primary and secondary markets. Before joining Aquis Exchange, Somers held executive roles at the Irish Stock Exchange, acquired by Euronext in March 2018 and rebranded to Euronext Dublin, for more than ten years. She played an irreplacable role in the exchange’s transformation to be part of European exchange group.

Additionally, Somers has served as an independent non-executive director of BlackRock iShares since April 2019, according to her Linkedln profile. During her career, Somers was also the president of Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) for three years from 2015 to 2018.
