ASIC Delays Financial Adviser Registration Requirement Until 1 February 2024

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) announced on Wednesday (September 20, 2023) the further extension of of the date by which relevant providers - financial advisers who offer personal advice to retail clients on relevant financial products (including time share advisers) – must be registered until 1 February 2024.
ASIC explained that it took this move because the Treasury Laws Amendment (2023 Measures No. 1) Bill remains before parliament.
In November 2022, the Australian financial regulator announced financial advisers would need to be registered by 1 July 2023.
Then in May 2023, the watchdog has extended registration deadline to 1 October 2023.
