ASX Chief Customer and Operating Officer Val Mathews to Leave

ASX Chief Customer and Operating Officer, Val Mathews has decided to part ways with ASX after over four years at the company. Prior to the current role, Val was Executive General Manager, ASX Business Operations.

ASX CEO and Managing Director, Helen Lofthouse, said, "Val and I have been speaking for several weeks and as part of these discussions, Val felt it was the right time to let me know of her intention to resign as she considers her longer term plans to focus on family and other commitments."

Helen Lofthouse continued, "Val has been a critical part of the Executive team and her focus and effort over that time has helped bring together the key components of customer, digital delivery, service management and strategy work currently underway across the Customer division."

Between 2003 and 2006, Val has been with ASX, with positions including General Manager, Technology and Digital Solutions, and Chief Information Officer. Besides, she served the firm as Program Director from 1999 to 2002, leading the implementation of ASX Exchange Trading link with Singapore Exchange, and the implementation of Financial Services Reform, including licensing of Market Operation and Clearing & Settlement reform.

Earlier, Val has spent five years at Barclays UK, serving as Senior Consultant - Technology Design.
