Bank of Russia’s Statistics Department Director Ekaterina Prokunina Retires

Fazzaco learned that Ekaterina Prokunina, Director of Statistics Department at the Bank of Russia, will retire on 30 December 2021.

According to the official press release, Galina Vasilyeva, Deputy Director of Statistics Department will become the the Acting Director of the Department, beginning on 31 December 2021.

"Ekaterina is an exceptionally qualified and experienced specialist. She joined the Bank of Russia in the middle of the 1990s and actually was among those who were promoting the development of financial statistics in Russia. The establishment of the modern financial statistics system, the improved quality and international comparability of statistics, the use of the advantages of new data sources, and the expansion of opportunities for users to analyse released data — all these achievements are largely owing to Ekaterina and the Department she headed," said Ksenia Yudaeva, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia.
