Barclays Stops UK Customers from Making Card Payments to Binance

The British universal bank Barclays has suspended debit and credit card payments to Binance, which is a world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and digital asset exchange, according to a notice from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
“As you’ve made a payment to Binance this year, we wanted to let you know that we’re stopping payments made by credit/debit card to them until further notice. This is to help keep your money safe,” said the bank. “This action does not impact on the ability for customers to withdraw funds from Binance”.
On June 26, the FCA has reportedly ordered Binance to halt any regulated activity in the UK without authorization. “Binance Markets Limited is not permitted to undertake any regulated activity in the UK. This firm is part of a wider Group (Binance Group),” according to its official press release.
Barclays noted that it would keep reviewing its position on the length of restriction. "The safety of our customers' money will be at the forefront of any decision."
