BBVA Launches Analytics Transformation Unit to Enhance Data-Driven Services
BBVA has launched a new Analytics Transformation Unit, consolidating its global team of over 2,500 data scientists and specialists to advance data-driven solutions. The new initiative aims to leverage cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including generative and predictive AI, to drive personalized products and services for customers while improving internal processes.
The unit brings together more than 1,500 data specialists and 1,000 data scientists from various regions, including Spain, Turkey, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay. This centralized team will focus on accelerating the development of analytical solutions and enhancing collaboration across BBVA's global network.
The Analytics Transformation Unit will prioritize several objectives, such as reducing the time between the development and implementation of technological solutions, expanding the global reach of these solutions, and providing data and AI training for all employees within the group. Additionally, the unit is tasked with ensuring that all AI and data-driven applications comply with legal and governance standards.
Ricardo García Martín, BBVA's Global Head of Analytics Transformation, stated that the transformation seeks to align advancements in data analytics and AI with strategic goals like operational excellence, customer base growth, and financial health improvement. The unit's creation marks a key step in reshaping BBVA's approach to leveraging data for business transformation and value delivery to customers.
