BBVA Registers Net Attributable Profit of €3Bn for H1 2022, up 59.3% YoY!

BBVA Group, a leading Spanish financial services provider, has published its financial results for the first half (H1) of 2022, revealing that its net attributable profit hit €3 billion, enjoying a surge of 59.3% YoY.
In terms of net interest income, the figure came in at €8.55 billion during this period, up 26.5% YoY. And net trading income rose 5.5% YoY to €1.1 billion, mainly contributed by the Group's Global Markets arm in Spain and Turkey.
Gross income reached €11.51 billion, increasing 15.8% YoY, with ROE and ROTE of 14.1% and 14.8%, respectively. Additionally, BBVA's new customers during H1 2022 totaled 5.3 million, reaching a quarterly record high.
"In the second quarter of 2022, we achieved strong results thanks to the positive performance of revenues, driven by the growth in activity and a good evolution of risk indicators. These results allow us to accelerate the creation of value for our shareholders, and to be the most efficient, and one of the most profitable banks in Europe. We have helped our customers with an increase in loans in all geographies, quarter after quarter, reaching double-digit growth rates," said the Group.
At the end of April, Fazzaco reported that BBVA's net attributable profit stood at €1.65 billion for the first quarter from January and March 2022, with operating income achieving record high at €3.53 billion.
