BCB Group, a leading provider of business accounts and trading services for the digital asset economy, announced that it has appointed Oliver Tonkin as its new CEO, succeeding Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie who will be leaving the organization to pursue new opportunities.

In its latest announcement, the company stated that as the co-founder, former deputy CEO and General Counsel of BCB Group, Oliver Tonkin is the perfect choice to lead the business moving forward. Based on the foundation laid by the former CEO and Founder Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie, Tonkin is set to promote the Group's position as a multi-regulated provider of payment, trading, and custody services in the digital asset industry.

Tonkin has over two decades of experience in legal, finance, and commercial fields. Before co-founding BCB Group in 2017, he was a Partner at Pemcap Advisory LLP, a private equity investment house, for more than 11 years. He had also held the role of Consultant at crypto firm Galaxy Digital and private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw Group. From 2005 to 2008, Tonkin served as Legal Counsel at Genworth, a leading U.S. financial services company. Earlier, he worked at Norton Rose Fulbright, the third-largest law firm in the United States by headcount and tenth by revenue.

Oliver Tonkin, BCB Group's new CEO, commented: "With the unwavering dedication and expertise of our teams, BCB Group is a unique company that has grown significantly since its creation. As a co-founder, I know only too well that the opportunities for us and our industry are as strong as ever – and to become CEO will be a privilege and an honour as we seek to scale BCB Group to the next level."

In June of this year, the Group terminated its acquisition of a 100-year old German bank, Sutor Bank, citing regulatory delays and changing current market conditions. Its deputy CEO Noah Sharp subsequently announced his resignation.
