BGC Group Incurs Losses in Q2 2023 in Spite of Growth in Revenues

BGC Group, Inc. (BGC), a leading global brokerage and financial technology company, has published financial results for the second quarter of 2023, unveiling losses despite increase in revenues during the period.

The company has generated revenues of $493.1 million for the quarter, rising 13.2% from $435.8 million in Q2 2022. Brokerage business brought $443.6 million revenues, 11.5% higher over the last same period.

Whereas, BGC incurred GAAP loss from operations before income taxes of $31.3 million, with GAAP net loss for fully diluted shares of $19.7 million.

Quarterly adjusted earnings before noncontrolling interest in subsidiaries and taxes grew 17.1% on a yearly basis to $105.5 million, with adjusted EBITDA up 18.5% to $135.1 million.

Post-tax adjusted earnings during the period came in at $100.0 million, increasing 18.0% from $84.7 million in the year-ago quarter.

Besides, in this quarter, the firm has completed the change of its business name from BGC Partners to BGC Group​. Besides, the firm's legal structure has transformed to a full C-Corporation.

For Q1 2023​, however, BGC registered second highest ever quarterly total revenue.
