Binance Picks Zane Wong as Director of KYC Compliance

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance yesterday announced the appointment of Zane Wong as its Director of KYC Compliance.

In her new role, Zane will lead a team tasked with the oversight and enhancement of the onboarding process to ensure highest standards of regulatory compliance.

As seen on her Linkedin profile, Zane will join Binance from Goldman Sachs, where she served as Associate of Private Wealth Management. Before this role, JPMorgan Asset Management utilised her services as Associate of Global Compliance from December 2015 to May 2018. Earlier in her career, Zane also worked at JPMorgan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Her career began at UOB, where she spent for nine months.

“We have seen mainstream acceptance of digital assets accelerate over recent years. The rapidly-evolving nature of cryptocurrencies requires that we collaboratively develop regulatory standards that will ensure the industry’s compliance,” Wong commented on the announcement.

“My experience with traditional financial services and institutions has laid a firm foundation upon which we can adapt to discover methods that work for the forward-looking cryptocurrency industry. As Fazzaco reported earlier, Binance has appointed Nils Andersen Röed​ as the Director of Audit and Investigations to strengthen the comany’s team of security specialists to make sure Binance remains the most secure crypto ecosystem around.
