Binance Suspends Direct Card Withdrawals in Ukraine Amid Payment Provider Transition
Binance has suspended direct fiat withdrawals to Visa and Mastercard for users in Ukraine following changes at its fiat service provider, Bifinity UAB. According to local reports, the pause is specifically linked to Bifinity’s scheduled discontinuation of fiat services by the end of 2025 due to regulatory shifts. The exchange has indicated that this suspension primarily affects Ukrainian customers who previously utilized Bifinity for card-based payouts.
The technical transition has impacted several automated features, including recurring cryptocurrency purchases and existing fiat-based limit buy orders, which will not execute during the suspension period. Additionally, the Zen.com payment platform, a common channel for Euro and Polish Zloty transfers, is expected to restore full deposit and withdrawal functionality for these users by January 6, 2026. In the interim, Binance has advised affected users to utilize Swift transfers or peer-to-peer (P2P) trading for off-ramping funds.
While outgoing card payments are paused, Binance continues to support other transaction methods in the region. Users can still fund their accounts and purchase digital assets using Visa and Mastercard, as well as digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Swift transfers remain operational for both deposits and withdrawals, maintaining a traditional banking link for fiat transactions.
This operational update follows recent external reports regarding the exchange’s historical transaction monitoring. A Financial Times investigation recently alleged that certain linked accounts processed significant volumes between 2021 and 2023, including during the period following the firm's settlement with United States authorities.
