Bitcoin Rises Amid Speculations on U.S Elections After Trump's Shooting

Bitcoin saw an increase in value, touching $63,000 following a failed assassination attempt aginst former US President Donald Trump on July 13. The token is currently trading at $63,000 as of today (July 15), marking the highest level in over a week.

Trump reported being shot in the right ear during a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, an incident that drew global attention and influenced the US presidential campaign. Analysts suggest that sympathy and anger over the attack may boost support for Trump's re-election bid. Trump, who stated he was "fine" after the incident, continued his campaign activities, including an appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Tony Sycamore, a market analyst at IG Australia, noted that Bitcoin gained momentum due to the increased likelihood of Trump's re-election. Trump's recent activities include engaging with the crypto community, such as a planned address at a Bitcoin conference in Nashville and meetings with Bitcoin miners.
Trump's pro-crypto stance, including opposing central bank digital currencies and advocating for US-based Bitcoin mining, has resonated with the crypto sector. The industry's support for favorable candidates is evident in substantial donations to political action committees.
